Config. Compare

Ever wonder how your server configurations compare node-to-node or even domain-to-domain? Using Softek Panther5, you can do just that – quickly and easily. Just follow the steps below to perform a server comparison:

1. In Panther5, select the Configurations component located under the node for the source environment.
   
   
2. After selecting Configurations, select the server you would like to compare. You can also right-click and do a Select All to perform a comparison of all servers.
   
   
3. After making your selection, right-click and select Copy.
   
   
4. After copying the configurations, select the Configurations component located under the node for the destination environment. This can be the same domain on a different node, or it can be another domain altogether!
   
   
5. In the view of the Configurations, right-click and select Paste. Note that no changes are made to the configurations at this time.
   
   
6. A new window will appear after the paste with a side-by-side comparison of the server configurations. Identical entries are green, while different entries appear in red.
   
   
7. Using the Cancel button, you can close the window without making any changes.

Additional Notes:

1. Using the box on the upper right, we can filter our criteria for viewing.
   
   
2. Using the checkboxes next to each server entry, you can select which configurations you would like to replicate to the destination.
   
   
3. After making your selection, click the Copy button at the bottom right. This will then copy the selected source configurations to the destination configurations.
   To exit without making changes, click Cancel.
