Custom Cycle Groups
The Cycle Groups Control is one of the most powerful features in Panther5. This short step-by-step tutorial shows you how to create a custom Cycle Group and how to use the proxy to cycle.
- Click on the "Cycle Groups" control in the Domain Explorer.
- Right-click anywhere in the list and select "Add..." from the menu.
- First off, we'll want to give the new group a name. You will want to give your group an accurate name that represents the associated action that requires the cycle.
- Now, we can select the server(s) we will want to add to this new Cycle Group by selecting servers from the "Available Servers" list.
- Once we find a server we want to add, simply click the entry, and then use the single right arrow to move the server to the "Selected Servers" list. Servers in this list will be part of your Cycle Group.
- In the Scope tab, we will move the nodes over to the "Included Nodes" list on the right.
- In the Security tab, we have an option in the top checkbox to "Cycle servers using the user's credentials". This checkbox will determine if users will cycle servers in Millennium with their security credentials or if they will cycle through the Panther5 proxy. This is a good option to have if you do not want to assign "Manage Servers" privileges to all users of this Cycle Group.
- Select the users that have access to this Cycle Group.
- The Sequence tab determines how the servers will cycle across the node(s).
- Click Apply, then click OK and your custom Cycle Group is now ready for use!
